Our Instructors
KARA
Kara Canfield is a 500hr YTT certified instructor and one of the studio’s co-owners. Kara is a born and raised Kenora girl who grew up in the neighbourhood of Lakeside.
Kara started teaching yoga to a group of women at the Kenora jail after her teacher training. She also taught at MVMNT and to youth at the Northern Youth Center. In her younger years Kara grew up taking a variety of different dance classes and she enjoys sequencing a class like you would choreograph a dance.
Kara currently teaches Thursday evenings Fusion Yoga and Yin Yoga.
BETSY
Betsy Harris co-owner of Lakeside Yoga Collective. An original Lakeside girl, Betsy is no stranger to instructing a variety of classes - she coached Nordic Skiing for many years, and taught yoga at MVMNT studio and at LOTW yoga studio. Over the years her interest in fitness has ranged from running, CrossFit, skiing, hiking and yoga. Betsy loves the outdoors and nature and is often planning her next hiking adventure and has recently combined yoga and hiking by offering “Hike & Yoga” pop ups!
Betsy has her 200hr YTT and has taken many more hours of continued education such as Yoga for Athletes, Injury Prevention & Management, Somatic Woman, & Somatic Strength. She can teach a variety of different styles of classes- beginners, core flow, vinyasa and slow flow. Betsy always brings lots of cues to build strength around your core knowing it is essential to for movement longevity.

JOANNA
Joanna has been practicing yoga for over 12 years and has been teaching for the past 9 years. She received her 200 hr intensive teacher training in Southern Thailand in 2015. Joanna strongly believes that yoga has the ability to ground you, relieve stress and maintain balance within a busy and hectic lifestyle. Joanna offers a wide variety of classes ranging from a gentle stretch to a spicy flow! Joanna is currently teaching a Gentle Stretch Wednesdays 6pm.
Joanna balances her life of a busy Mom and nurse through her practice and teaching of yoga! We are excited to have her offer classes at our studio.
CHARLOTTE
Char is the newest addition to the studio teaching team and we couldn’t be happier. Char recently completed 200 hr Abhyasa Yoga training with Sam Manchulenko in 2023. Abhyasa means constant practice…living a yoga in aspects of our life. Char weaves this philosophy into all of her classes.
Char is currently teaching an early morning flow “Rise Up” and a “Soulful Flow”.
